The system has biometric identification recognition, optical character recognition and smart card technologies which can accelerate customs clearance and increase the efficiency of identity verification.

IST has provided Automated Border Control System for Passenger Solutions to Hong Kong and Macau, more than 1000 pieces of such devices were provided.
